Memory left By Sharon Foster, Campbells first girlfriend,

I met Cam in August 1987 at a Cwmbran Stadium disco. I was 15, he was 16 at the time. Campbell got a bit drunk that night & I remember someone from St John’s Ambulance being there checking he was ok & giving him a lecture on the dangers of alcohol. We met again the next day in the town centre & started spending a lot of time together after that.
I also spent a lot of time at Campbell’s house & his family always treated me like one of their own. I was still at school so Campbell used to come & meet me from school quite often, and we’d walk down to Fairwater shops and get some chips. Once while we were there someone I knew from school said something to us about me having a boyfriend from another school (Fairwater /St Alban’s Rivalry!) so Campbell asked me to hold his chips while he sorted the boy out!
I’ll always remember the time Campbell came to meet me from school & gave me a present. It was the 12″ version of I Need Love by LL Cool J & 27 years on, I still have the record. It always reminds me of him.

Even after Campbell I & broke up we stayed friends. I used to spend a lot of time at his flat, smoking & listening to music. I moved to London in 1995 & unfortunately lost touch with Campbell, but I often heard from friends on how he was doing & thought of him often.
